Hostivio automatically calculates the Czech local accommodation tax for every guest — correctly, always in line with the municipal ordinance.
The turistický poplatek (local accommodation tax, or místní poplatek z pobytu) is a municipal tax charged per overnight stay in accommodation facilities across the Czech Republic. It is governed by Act No. 565/1990 Coll. on local taxes. The accommodation provider typically collects the tax on behalf of the guest and remits it to the municipality.
Each municipality sets its own rate by ordinance, up to a legal ceiling of CZK 50 per person per night.
Rates are indicative — always verify the current municipal ordinance as rates can change.
| Municipality | Indicative rate | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Prague (Praha) | CZK 50/night/person | per current ordinance |
| Karlovy Vary | CZK 21/night/person | spa town |
| Brno | CZK 15/night/person | indicative value |
| Český Krumlov | CZK 30/night/person | tourist area |
| Other municipalities | max. CZK 50/night/person | legal ceiling |
