The reporting obligation (ohlašovací povinnost) — what does the law say?

Under Czech Act No. 326/1999 Coll. on the residence of foreigners (zákon o pobytu cizinců), every accommodation provider must report the stay of every foreign national to the relevant foreign police department within 3 working days.

What must be reported:

  • Full name
  • Date and place of birth
  • Nationality
  • Travel document number
  • Home address abroad
  • Check-in date and expected check-out
