We built it for our parents' apartments. Today hosts run theirs on it.

Our parents rent out a few apartments. Nothing big, but it still ate up a good chunk of every evening. Booking spreadsheets, replying to guests, sorting out the cleaning. My brother David and I kept watching it and thought, this can't go on like this.

We're both developers, so we did the only thing that made sense. One weekend we sat down and started writing it. First guest registration and the house book, since that's what our parents struggled with most. Then reporting foreigners to the police. Then generating UNL files for Ubyport. Whenever they hit a wall, we coded our way through it.

Before we knew it, we were the ones actually running the whole thing. Bookings, guests, paperwork, all of it. And one day it hit us: why keep this just for ourselves?

That's how Hostivio came about. We didn't dream it up on paper. It was running in our own home long before it became a real product. Almost every feature we add, we first lived through as a problem ourselves.

These days it helps hosts spend less time at the computer and more with their guests. And the two of us? Still coding. Just not for our parents anymore, but for you.
