The story of two brothers who wanted to help their family — and ended up helping hosts around the world.

Our parents rent out apartments. Not many — but enough to take up a good chunk of every evening. Reservation spreadsheets, messages to guests, coordinating cleaning... David and I watched this and kept saying: this can't go on like this.

We're developers, so we did the only logical thing — we sat down one weekend and started writing code. First guest registration and the guest book. Then reporting foreign guests to the police. Then generating UNL files for Ubyport. We gradually solved every problem our parents ran into.

Time passed and we became the ones actually running the whole operation — reservations, guests, paperwork. Everything. And one day it hit us: why keep this just for ourselves?

That's how Hostivio was born. Not as an idea on paper, but as a tool that was already working in practice. Every feature we add is something we experienced as a real problem ourselves.

Today we help hosts spend less time in front of a computer and more time with their guests. And the two of us? Still coding — just not for our parents anymore, but for you.
