What is a PMS, and when do you need one?

PMS stands for property management system: software for managing accommodation. A booking system records stays; a PMS adds the work around guests and operations, such as check-in and invoicing.

Before choosing software, list your properties and rooms, the channels you sell through, and who handles arrivals, guest records and cleaning. A single apartment and a guesthouse with a reception team need different capacities and workflows.

What does Hostivio PMS cover?

Reservations, calendar and channels

The beta channel manager sends prices, availability and stay rules to Booking.com and Airbnb, and receives reservations in the shared calendar to help prevent overlapping bookings. The Airbnb connection is new. Beta features are covered by section 6 of the terms of service.

Online check-in and guest records

Guests provide their details before arrival through online check-in. Hostivio uses those details for the statutory guest register, Ubyport reports and local accommodation fee calculations.

Local accommodation fee

Hostivio calculates the local accommodation fee. The rate and rules depend on your municipality’s ordinance; see the accommodation fee guide.

Invoices, payments and your team

Invoicing is part of Hostivio PMS. During your trial, walk through how guests pay and how you issue invoices. Decide who needs access and how arrival and departure information reaches the people responsible for cleaning. Team capacity and any additional charges are listed in the plans below.

Solo: 588 CZK yearly with no extra discount. With extra guests enabled, Solo and Pro both cost 199 CZK at 35 guests; Pro is cheaper from 36. Channel manager is charged separately.
